Odds Converter

Odds formats are display conventions — the underlying probability is identical regardless of whether you are looking at decimal 2.0, American +100, fractional 1/1, or implied 50%. The format varies by market and region; sharp bettors need to move fluently across all four.

Enter any format in the field below and read the other three instantly. The static reference table at the bottom covers the most common lines — useful as a quick mental conversion chart when comparing prices across books.

Worked examples

Example 1 — Even money

Decimal 2.0 is the simplest even-money line: you double your money if you win. In American odds that is +100 (stake $100, profit $100). In fractional odds it is 1/1 (evens). The implied probability is 50% — the book prices both sides as equally likely.

Example 2 — De-juiced standard line

The industry-standard juiced line on a 50/50 market is 1.91 decimal (both sides). In American: -110 (stake $110 to profit $100). In fractional: 10/11. The implied probability is 52.36% — each side above 50% because the book takes 4.5% margin across the market. Pinnacle's de-juiced line on the same market would be approximately 1.98/1.98.

FAQ

Odds Converter FAQ

What is the difference between decimal and American odds?
Decimal odds include your stake in the return — 2.0 means you get €2 back for every €1 staked (€1 profit). American (moneyline) odds express profit on a $100 base: +100 means you profit $100 on a $100 stake; -150 means you must stake $150 to profit $100. Decimal odds are standard in Europe and Asia; American odds are standard in North America.
What is fractional odds?
Fractional odds express profit relative to stake as a fraction. 1/1 (Evens) means you profit £1 for every £1 staked. 3/1 means £3 profit per £1 staked. To convert to decimal: divide numerator by denominator and add 1 (3/1 → 3÷1+1 = 4.0). Fractional odds are common in UK horse racing.
What is implied probability?
Implied probability is the bookmaker's break-even win rate for a given odds. It is 1 divided by decimal odds, expressed as a percentage. Decimal 2.0 → 50% implied. If your true-probability estimate is above the implied probability, there is positive expected value. BetEdge uses Pinnacle's implied probability as the reference fair value for every pick.
How do I convert American odds to decimal?
For positive American odds (+): divide by 100 and add 1. Example: +150 → 150/100 + 1 = 2.5. For negative American odds (-): divide 100 by the absolute value and add 1. Example: -200 → 100/200 + 1 = 1.5. This calculator handles both cases automatically.
Why do bookmakers show different odds formats?
Bookmakers display odds in the format most familiar to their target market: European books use decimal, US books use American/moneyline, UK horse racing uses fractional. The underlying probability is identical regardless of format — it is purely a display convention. This converter lets you work with whichever format you prefer regardless of which book you are viewing.
